Fountaine Pajot MY6 Honest Review

I’ve bought 3 Fountaine Pajot MY6’s with my clients since 2021 and have come to love and loathe certain aspects of the boat. I believe they offer a tremendous value for the money but there are quality aspects of the vessel that a buyer needs to be aware of prior to purchasing their own Fountaine Pajot MY6.

If you watch t his 10 minute tour I’ve put together, we’ll get into some of the pros and cons below.

Highlights of a Fountaine Pajot MY6

Value for the Money - How many vessels exist in the world in a 44’ footprint where you can comfortably sleep and entertain 8 persons? The answer is almost none. As a french built vessel, there’s an innate luxury and the beam makes it one of my favorite boats for local cruising. We’ve had 12 people on the boat and it doesn’t feel one bit crowded, the cockpit serves as a dance floor and from hanging towels, storage for water toys and it’s been so much fun (especially the night we had 2 tied up next to each other in Elliot Key Miami).

Fuel Efficiency - If you’re going to be down in the Carribean I don’t think this is the boat for you with the Volvo IPS but if you’re not, the consumption, range and easy of operation is exceptional.

Owner Operator - It’s a great boat when you’re running from the flybridge, your guests are on the big sun pad right next to you which is innately better than the isolation or separation owners typically realize after they buy the boat.

Waking Up to The Water - When you’re on the hook or overnight, your first view is to the

Shipyard Delivery - I don’t know who oversees quality control and even more who oversaw this during COVID (questionable across the board for all builders) but we had one boat show up without exterior cushions, a generator installed incorrectly and a few leaks to resolve. This was a tough time in the industry as the new owners had long calibration periods that they’ve since see values drop, and is your gain.

Cockpit - without a table to sit at, you’re forced to go forward or up, which isn’t the worst thing but you typically spend the most time outdoors near the water and aft of the galley. There’s no table since the deck storage and engine room access would make a table too tight.

Market Inventory - As of today 03/01/2026 there’s not a ton available like there was last year, but buyers in this segment have a lot of options and is growing which can always impact your future resale value (which is why you need to use our yacht calculator tool to visualize what you can expect to properly acquire and sell down the road).

Buying Opportunity

While we here at Yacht Zero tout our non bias when buying boats, our owner of our last one left has his for sale. He was in outer space on his price initially but has softened, and with a heavily optioned vessel in bristol condition and exceptional service records, he’s ready to move into his next boat as he changes his boats like his underwear.

Yacht Zero Re-Sale program is happy to offer his 2022 Fountaine Pajot MY6 Hawkeye, which is available for $1.19M in Miami Beach. We encourage you to use our yacht calculator feature but the vessel can be viewed by clicking the image below.
